Reasons Why People Get a Headache

headache2The causes of headaches may range from eyestrain to inflammation of the sinus cavities to life-threatening conditions such as encephalitis, brain cancer, and cerebral aneurysms. In other cases, some people experience headaches when they are hungry or dehydrated.

One type of headache is called tension headache, this occurs when a person experiences contraction of the muscles in your shoulders, neck, scalp, and jaw. This happens due to stress, depression, or anxiety. Another main reason of getting a headache is overworking, not getting enough sleep, missing meals, and using alcohol or street drugs can make you more susceptible to headaches.

Foods that can trigger a headache include chocolate, cheese, and monosodium glutamate (MSG), a flavor enhancer. People who drink caffeine can have headaches when they don’t get their usual daily amount. Other common reasons leading to a tension headache include performing an activity that causes you to hold your head in one position for a long time like using a computer, sleeping in a cold room or an abnormal position, overexerting yourself, clenching your jaw or grinding your teeth.

For best cure to this illness it is well-advised that a person who is suffering from headache should a doctor for proper prescription as to what medicine to buy.
